Explore Your CBVA Elo: Updated Power Ratings and Trends
Interactive Tableau Dashboard to Explore Every Player’s Elo Progression in 2024
Curious how your CBVA Elo stacks up this season? I’ve just refreshed the 2024 Elo ratings through October and designed an interactive Tableau dashboard for you to dive into your match data like never before.
For those unfamiliar, Elo is a rating system that tracks how your performance stacks up against other players, based on match results. It's a great way to quantify improvement and see how your wins and losses affect your overall standing.
Since my last CBVA elo post, a few people have reached out wanting to see their own Elo ratings in the dataset. So, I decided to create this interactive Tableau dashboard, which lets you compare your own Elo rating to other players. If nothing else, it’s a fun way to track your 2024 matches, see how your rating has evolved, and view details like your partners, opponents, and match outcomes.

How to Read the Dashboard:
The X-axis shows the match (starting from March 2024).
The Y-axis tracks the Elo rating, which start off reacting quickly to each match but gradually stabilize as more games are played, offering a clearer picture of your long-term performance.
It’s important to note that Elo doesn’t directly correlate with CBVA ratings like AAA, AA, etc. For instance, AAA players can only compete in AAA/Open-level tournaments, which feature tougher competition. So, while Elo gives a good snapshot of your progression, it's not a direct match for CBVA’s official ratings.

That’s all for now. The data needs to be updated manually by me, so expect a few limited updates throughout the year.
