Horoscopes at the Net: Zodiac Matches Made in Volleyball Heaven!

Are Leo’s the best? Don’t blame me, blame your mom that she didn’t birth you in July/August!

My wife loves horoscopes so for this “special” date I thought I would mix it up. While the science is a bit shaky, the data is very real and represents men’s and women’s pairings from AVP and FIVB matches in the past quarter century. 

So, which horoscope should you partner up with?

According to our "stellar" analysis, fire signs like Leo reign supreme on the beach volleyball court. So, next time you're scouting for a partner, be sure to ask about their astrological sign first. Skip out on the Scorpios (plz don’t kill me in my sleep) and Pisces (sorry, here’s a tissue) and pick up a Leo or an Aquarius instead! 👀

Coming in 3rd, 4th and 5th are Gemini (if you’re ok with their inner rage), Cancer (if you’re ok with them crying after you win), and Libra (hey, I’m a Libra if you need a partner). 

Dynamic Duos

Taking a closer look at player partnerships and horoscopes, it's no surprise that Leo’s dominate the top spots. Who woulda thought? 👀 (If you're a Leo, I bet you’re loving the attention right now).

Aquarius also has winning records with Libras, Geminis, Capricorns, and Aquarius’ themselves (fun fact: Aquarius is an Air sign, not water). Another dynamic duo coming in hot is Aries and Leo, that’s not terribly surprising given that they’re both fire signs🔥(feisty).

Notable Players

Let's add some star power to these signs! As mentioned, some of the best players of all time are Leo’s! Kerri Walsh Jennings and Misty May-Treanor (both Leo’s) have the best win/loss record of all time across the AVP and FIVB at 92%. 

Duda Lisboa from Brazil rounds out the top 3 playing by playing with a Libra.

Larissa Franca and Talita Antunes come in next, with an Aries/Virgo combo! Fire and Earth always makes for an interesting mix.

Phil Dalhausser, an Aquarius, had the best record on the men’s side with a Libra, Todd Rogers. No wonder air signs are such big blockers!

Skipping down to the bottom, Anders Mol and Christian Sorum are an interesting mix, with Cancer and Sagittarius! Anders must have a resilient spirit to partner with one of the feistiest signs.

Although this is an April Fools post, it does make me wonder if Leos, who are born on the cusp of the school season in August could have some sort of advantage by being the youngest in their cohorts.
